Ok so the celebrity shows that are "looking for love" are, in my opinion, ridiculous. I don't know how many of you all watched "Rock of Love" with Brett Michaels but it was absolutely absurd. Girls would fight over him like crazy and the sad part is that he never stayed with the girl and he had multiple shows where he was looking for love.
Another one that was ridiculous was "Flavor of Love." I can't believe that girls got into fist fights over this guy. He wore a large clock around his neck...not attractive, plus I don't think he had any teeth. What do you all think about these washed up celebs looking for love on television?

Every person's fantasy
Rob Dyrdek has had 2 successful shows on MTV. He is a famous skateboarder and because of his talent he does whatever he wants on his shows. His first successful show was Rob and Big. On this show Rob and his body guard, Big went around town and did random acts. They bought and raced a mini horse, made a cereal box with their faces on it, made music video, plus many other activities. On his other show, Fantasy Factory, he basically did the same thing. The only difference between the two shows is that one takes place in his skateboarding factory. He has numerous celebrities come to the factory to basically play. Both of the shows are for strictly entertainment and can be humorous. However these shows seem to be the most honest out of reality shows.

The Big Issue!
Weight loss is something that most people struggle with. Whether its finding times to exercise, learning how to exercise right, or figuring out what you should eat, our lives usually focus around our weight. And it doesn't help that the media are constantly throwing weight loss in our faces.
Celebrity Fit Club was a hilarious show! It does not air anymore, but the focus was washed up celebrities attempting to lose weight. These celebrities definitely show themselves on this show! They become belligerent and intolerable at some points. Most of them do not really take this show serious but rather see it as a come back.
Another interesting weight loss show is a newer show on MTV called I Used To Be Fat. I don't know how many of you all have seen this show but its kind of like MTV's Made, but its all about making obese kids skinnier. Most of the kids on the show were fat all through high school and did not have much of a social life because of their obesity problem. They decide to make it their goal to be a new person before they start college. I think that this show is kind of motivating for the teenagers of this generation. Obesity is a major issue to them so therefore it shows them that losing weight is possible.
What do guys think? How do you feel about Weight loss shows?

Reality of Self Esteem
Reality TV shows are now more about self esteem than anything else. Some shows build people's self esteem while others tear them down.
Beauty and the Geek was a show produced by Ashton Kutcher and on this show he took geeky boys and matched them with beautiful girls. This show helped both the sexes. It gave the guys confidence to talk to a beautiful girl while it showed the girls that there is more to a person besides looks and glamour. This show was entertaining because the geeks were teaching the girls about love and the girls were teaching the geeks about love and together they developed a new kind of love.
On the other hand there are those shows that kill self esteem. Big Brother is one of the most ridiculous shows that I have ever seen. I embarassingly admit that I watched the first season of that show but that was it for me. The people on this show are very immature. I feel like they are always out to get each other and will do anything to win in the end. Its a like Survivor but people tear each down more in this show. Making others feel like they are less than yourself is tearing down self esteem. And that is the definition of Big Brother.

America's Favorites
There is one show that has been around for a very long time and the longer that it has been around the more ridiculous it has gotten. American Idol came out around the same time as Big Brother. The oh so famous Kelly Clarkson became the first Idol winner, but the competition kept going. Personally, I think that when the first season aired it was a good show. However, now the show is a little bit out there. First of all I think they should have ended it when Paula and Simon left. The show is just not the same. Secondly, I think it is more of a-lets make fun of those people who cant sing-type of show. Now dont get me wrong I too enjoy seeing the judges faces when they hear a bad singer, but come on its just too much now.

Another show that it is somewhat entertaining is Dancing With The Stars. Now this show takes washed up actors and actresses and attempt at making the famous again. Or it takes people such as Bristol Palin and make them look like an idiot. On the last season, Bristol Palin caused so much controversy over the ending decision. I'm not going to lie I was really pulling for the Hoff to win-haha. The new season is about to start in a few weeks so sit back and get ready to enjoy the wonders of dancing.

Survival of the Fittest
Ok so when Survivor came out about a 10 years ago, I thought that there was no way that it would still be on air today. That show has become more and more ridiculous. The new season starts on February 16th. They have started something new. This season is called Redemption Island, meaning that those who have been voted off will be coming back. I think this is going to be a dangerous move on their part. Usually the ones who have been voted off, were voted off because they were drama queens and kings and caused problems. This season is definitely going to be a handful.
Now I'm not going to lie, but I used to love The Bachelor! Now I think that is kind of stupid as well. Its still and entertaining show but there are sometimes that I wonder if it is scripted. Also I dont understand how these girls can fall in love with this guy after 2 dates! its ridiculous. I watched a clip from next weeks episode and there is one girl who is determined to talk to the guy alone. He tells her that he isn't looking for a type but rather a connection. He then goes on to tell her that he has a connection with her and with other people. She literally asks him if they really do have a connection. Hahahaha this sounds like a stage 5 clinger to me!

MTV's Reality
Reality television is ridiculous and we all know this, but for some reason we find it to be very entertaining. I remember the first reality TV show that I ever watched and it was Big Brother. Ever since that show came out around 2000, we have seen more and more "reality" shows. Not only have we seen more, their ridiculous drama has escalated as well. One thing that I find very interesting is that the people on these shows become famous for their stupidity or for their drunken mishaps.
A very popular reality show (on MTV) is Jersey Shore. This show is the the definition of ridiculous drama. The girls fight each other, the boyfriends cheat on the girlfriends, they go out and get drunk all the time, they get arrested and some days they go to the beach. There are 8 people that live in a house, 4 girls and 4 boys. They are all from the New Jersey area.
This week on the Jersey Shore it was a "continued" episode. One of the housemates (Jenni) and her boyfriend (not on the show) broke up. Of course it was a messy break-up and they had a house together in Jersey. After the messy break-up, Jenni and her other housemate (Nicole or "Snookie") went to her house to check on things. Her boyfriend had taken quite a few things from her, including her bed. She broke down -- of course. They also had a visitor in the house, Rider, Snookie's best friend. It was Rider's birthday and she wanted to celebrate with her bestie. So they go out to a club like usual and the house couple --Sammi and Ronnie -- get into a drunken argument. Sammi does not get along with Jenni and she gets very upset with Ronnie when he is nice to her and talks to her. Sammi ends up punching Ronnie in the face and calling her mother to come pick her up. But the two end up making up and Sammi stays and fixes her problem with Jenni.
Another popular show is Teen Mom. Right now they are in the second season. This show is about girls who got pregnant in high school (they were on a previous MTV reality show 16 And Pregnant) and how they're lives have changed since then. This show is full of drama as well. Most of them have broken up with the baby daddy and are trying to "raise" a child, go to school, work, and have a social life. You can tell who really wants their child by how they rate their priorities. This week one of them, Jennelle, signed over temporary custody of her child to her mother. Not long ago I saw Jennelle in magazine article for smoking pot. Her priorities are straight. Also two of the girls got back together with the baby daddy. One of them treated her like she was nothing and also had nothing to do with their child, but according to these girls you cant stop love -- hahaha.
The reality shows that we see today consist of drama, and we like it because its not our drama. Next week I plan on talking about Survivor and The Bachelor.
